So once again its time to store our goodies for another year. I will use this as a new and improved tips page for making it easier to pack stuff up.

If you haven't already, save newspaper to wrap stuff up in. Just make sure its stuff that the ink will not rub off on. You can also buy bubble wrap very cheap at your Dollar General, Walmart and if you have alot, run by a moving company. If you saved your wrapping paper this works great! And don't forget all the packing materials you have collected over the season.

Store stuff in your tubs by themes. Then take a piece of paper and write a brief note of what you packed in that tub. Make sure you mark items on that list that are extra special so you wont have to dig for them next season. Then take your note and place it in a small zip lock bag and tape it to the top of your tub, leaving the zip lock side untaped. You can also write on the bag itself what is in that tub ie: Santa's or stocking or dishes. That way you can look at the bag and see what is in the tub and then pull out the note to see if what you are looking for is in that tub.

I will add more as I do them and if you have any to add to make packing up easier, please do!!

Nice ideas Christy. I have a oranizing box. I call it my lifesaver.
My recipe box is full of index cards.
Each tub has a number on it (the sides and top) 1-85
Each index card has a matching number the color of the tub that matches it.
On each index card is what is in that tub. Everything from outdoor small extension cords to my tree decorations. I even put on them the little things that are in the tub like twist ties. When I get started I pull out my index cards and start thumbing thru them to see what i need and where i will find it.
I have done this for four years now and it works. '06 I didn't put anything away and boy was it hard to find anything this past year. It is all being put away like I like it this year.:61:

I like the idea and have used it once. Laziness prevented me from changing the cards when I got things out and all mixed up.
