This will be the place we post good food finds. If you come across something that you think others would like, post it here.
I have to share with you my good find!
Gortons Grilled Tilapia, Roasted Garlic and Butter
OMG! Are these good or WHAT? There are two fillets per box. Each fillet has 80 calories, and 2.5 grams of fat. This equals 2 point for those on WW's. So you can enjoy both fillets in one meal.
They are microwavable or can be cook in a conventional oven.
I give them 5 stars!!

Yummm...sounds good Christy. I'll have to remember to pick a package up next time at grocery store.
Weight Watchers has a new Smart Ones: Fiesta Quesadilla. It's a three cheese blend with black beans, corn, red bell peppers and onions folded into a crispy flour tortilla.
One box gives 2 servings with 4 points per serving. I just picked it up yesterday and will let you know how I like it. Sounds good though. :c50:

I have been seeing advertising for The Laughing Cow cheese spread wedges. I didn't think they sold them down here but I just found 'em!! And of all places, at my local grocer!!
they have plain and garlic and herb so I got the garlic and herb since I am such a garlic freak. One wedge is two points, eat it with 5 plain saltines and that adds another point so this will make a 3 point snack! WOOHOO!! I found myself the perfect afternoon snack!

Michelina's Lean Gourmet frozen dinners. These things are WONDERFUL! And at Kroger, they are only $1 a piece! Their pizzas have WW's Smart Ones beaten by a mile. I have also tried their Swedish meatballs and chicken Alfredo Florentine and they are both winners. I go every week and buy 5 at a time and eat on those for 5 bucks! And no figuring points, it already lists them right on the box.
Also, check out WW's individual cream cheese cups. They are one point a piece and really satisfy my crazing for cheese.

Two new finds today.
Weight Watchers yogurt. Lots of great flavors to chose from. I picked up Amaretto Cheesecake and Strawberry Cheesecake. My two favorite desserts! Only 1 point per cup.
Blue Bunny Krunch Lite ice cream bars! Can we say YUMMY?? They are heaven on a stick. Vanilla ice cream coated in milk chocolate with rice crispy type things it in. And only 2 points!

Whole wheat Eggo frozen waffles. They are one point a piece so you can be as good or as bad as you want. And they are really, really good!
And to top them off? Mrs Buttersworth sugar free syrup. 1/4 cup is 35 calories, no fat and only 1 pt. Its more than enough for two waffles. And you cannot tell any difference in the taste.

Christy...also check out the Go Lean Blueberry Waffles. They are wonderful and you get two per serving and has high fiber of 9 grams. Also Morningstar sausage links..(vegie sausage) also good in fiber and low fat. Check it out. I had this for breakfast a few days ago with Carey's fat free Maple Syrup...Yes, it is all so yummy and also good for us.

I need to try the sausage. I'll put that on the grocery list for Sunday. I have seen the Go Leans but not the blueberry kind...mental note to self *find blueberries!!*
My latest find:
Prevention Magazine.
I knew it was out there but never paid much attention to it. But after following a few links last night I ended up on their website (where I found that top 100 diet tips) and really enjoyed it. So I went out today and bought both April and May's editions. There are alot of good articles in them and its dieting, exercising tips and ideas that a normal person can do without injury or burnout. I'll probably get a subscription to them.

Another good find for breakfast: Organic Flax, pumpkin seed, raisin cereal. High fiber again (9) low fat, and very filling. I have this with 1% milk. This cereal really sticks to the ribs and keeps you full. I am always looking for high fiber, low fat, low sugar foods and there are plenty out there but my golly, it takes me forever to get through the grocery store these days. Lol.:c70:

A friend at the cookout was telling me the other night that Kashi (I think that is spelled right) cereal is VERY high fiber and not too bad.
Twinkle
03-27-2008, 07:56 PM
Christy...Lol...I love anything Kashi...I buy it all...right down to the snack bars because it always has high fiber which is so great. :c27:

Guess I need to try it then. One cannot eat enough fiber!

While shopping today, I saw Morningstar also has sausage patties. I bought a package. Looks good to me.
I am so much into fiber because when I did the numbers and found I needed 25 grams per day I found I was falling way short.
Since I have concentrated on getting in the daily fiber...it has helped me so much with feeling better and rarely feeling tired.
For me it's high fiber, low fat, and low sugar. It works for me though my weight loss is slow. Bottom line, I feel great since increasing daily fiber.:c70:At least this is my experience.

Do you remember back in the early 90's when WW's did fat and fiber? I don't know the program but I remember them advertising and saying to eat between 15 and 25 grams of fiber each day.
Twinkle

I believe this is how WW program works with their weight loss. It's all about low fat and high fiber...keeps the system moving.
When I have a good elimation day I always loose the weight the next day. Sounds a bit gross..but what can I say...it works for me....also good for colon health.:c11:

You type in your city and state and it will pull up restaurants that participate in the program. It lists their healthy dishes and nutritional values.

This sounds really good. I guess it has been 8 weeks since I had anything sweet to eat. I have been eyeballing some donuts, but will stay true to my vow until May 9th.

I must have missed out on your explanation of it...

#4, check out Hostess 100 calorie cupcake packs.
The streusel ones are the best, they have banana, blueberry and cinnamon and you get 3 small cupcakes for 100 calories. On WW's they are only 1 pt a package. Now of course you can only eat one package!
They also have carrot cake, white cakes with chocolate icing and chocolate on chocolate and they too are 100 calories but 2 WW's points. They have a few more grams of fat in them than the streusel .

100 Calorie SmartFoos White Cheddsar popcorn snack packs!!
Girls, I am so happy I could squeal! I am addicted to this stuff but of course had to give it up because it was too fattening. I tried buying and just eating half a bag but the temptation was too great. So I just put it on the list of no-no's. But then I found these Friday night! I about had a fit right in the store! Its a good size bag and I get satisfied with it so I will be buying alot of this.
Perfect timing too because I always eat alot more of it during the summer, something about being around the pool or on the sandbar makes me crave it.

I did find a recipe today for lowfat, lowcal eggnog. I need to get it and post it here, once I write it down. I do recall it using soy milk.
I visit this website daily (http://www.burningthescale.com/), it has all sorts of good stuff on it. But the post about the book Lose Weight Now : Diet Journal & Organizer by Alex A. Lluch got me excited! I want this book! I called Barnes and Noble and they do have it so even though I am off tomorrow I may have to run up and get it. I journal religiously and really believe that is what has made me so successful. This will just condense everything I have into one book and I can carry it with me no matter where I go.
I haven't been this excited over something diet related in a long time!

I have switched from 1% milk to Silk Soy Milk. It seems to agree with me more than milk. Also using Silk Soy Milk creamer in vanilla flavoring for my morning coffee.
I'd be interested in the eggnog recipe you have. Sounds good and healthy.

Here's something new, at least it is to me.
I was in the frozen food dept when I spotted these frozen chocolate fudge treats. Actually, they're dairy free and made from tofu. It's called Tofutti. One chocolate bar is only 30 calories, and it's fat free and sugar free. I bought them and had one for dessert last night. Really, really creamy and very tasty.

What store? I wonder if Kroger or WalMart sells them, too.

I've never seen them here. You can probably google them, find their website and then locate what stores sell them.

#4...I found this site and has a store locator ..
However, this company may not be the maker of the dessert bar I bought so not sure if they carry the sugar free/fat free type that I bought. I have an email into them now asking the question.

Well, oh happy day! The last store on the list for my zip code is the only Kroger on the list and is the one I shop at on the way to work. The others are all high end natural foods stores where a loaf of bread can be swapped for your car.

Hershey's Sticks!!
While I am not a huge chocolate fan, these really do the trick when I want to indulge. They are heaven!! So far I have tried the caramel and the mint. I cant decided which one is better! The mint does remind me of all those minty Christmas chocolate and I bet would be really good with a cup of Joe. The caramel is all runny and gooey like in those high dollar fundraiser bars.
They are around 6 inches long and about as big around as a pencil. What's even better? Only 60 calories a piece!!!

I don't know if its the cooler temps or because we are heading into the holidays and all the yummy treats but I have been craving sweets like crazy! And I am not really much of a sweet eater but I find myself looking for yummy low calorie stuff. Well I hit the motherload today.

I don't eat a lot of desserts or sweets except at the holiday time. My big year round down fall is 'Pepsi'. I can't stand the diet stuff, would rather have water, altho Diet A&W Rootbear isn't too bad.
I am not a big eater either. (Well, I do love Mashed Potatoes, but don't have them often. So the Pepsi is what has put my weight on over the years. Once I get away from it, then I am ok, it gets out of my system.
Eggnog at Christmas time is another downfall of mine!!!

I have been reading your posts and gleaning your info.
Although I could certainly stand to lose a few pounds, my goal right now is to lower my cholesterol. The first thing to go was the Moose Tracks ice cream which, thank the Lord, I don't even want now. Fruits are my desserts. I am eating more veggies and fruits, adding garlic where possible, drinking grape juice in the morning, trying to have cold-water fish a couple of times each week. I love beans and rice which are good choices. My main thing is to stay away from animal fat as much as possible. I am buying the Morning Star meat substitutes at Wal-Mart which DH and I really like. Those soy burgers have replaced Whoppers. (Whoppers and Moose Tracks are undoubtedly what got me into trouble) And, of course, FRENCH FRIES!
