Canada Day is celebrate on July 1st. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y273/AuntieMistletoe/canada004CanadianFlag.gif

With a little help from YouTube, I'd like to share a few clips of Canada with not only our National Anthem and great footage including the Flag many users might recognize today, but also an earlier flag and a song that moves me sometimes more than O' Canada depending on my mood.

Take a look and feel free to comment. And for all you "hosers" out there, I've included a clip for you too.

Trust me folks, Bob and Doug and The Trailer Park Boys and William Shatner are not true icons of our Canadian image - Jim Carey is a bit more fitting if you ask me.

This one shows a little more than Bob, Doug & Jim

During the last few seconds of the Gold Medal Olympic Hockey Game (2007) fans broke into song with O’ Canada our national anthem.

I love when stuff like that happens.

The Maple Leaf For Ever: Written by Alexander Muir and performed by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Anne Murray did a nice job with the same song, but my dad prefers the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's version.

For the "Hosers, eh"
Bob and Doug Mackenzie - Happy Canada Day, eh!

You guessed it Christy - hardly anybody works today and those who do get double-time and a half.

They have fireworks every night in Niagara (weather conditions permitting). We missed it a few summers ago when we were there. For some reason we were in Haunted House at the time.

This is an excellent song by a Barbershop group - here they perform America & O Canada blended beautifully together with lovely harmony.

I first heard it in my dad's car last March when my husband and I picked my parents up at the airport in Toronto.

I'm listening to it now. Great singing. You can't beat the human voice.

:c71: I liked how "real" a few of them got when they finished and were proud of their performace. "High Five's" and "whoop-whoops" are not what you'd expect to see from a choral group.

Hopefully everyone had a good day! I wonder what percentage of people managed to get today off so they could have a real long weekend. It got me thinking though, the Canada flags come out strong that day but you rarely see them more than a few weeks after...people just aren't that big into flags around here I guess.

It was nice to see Sony in the US actually acknowledged it was Canada day in their Home program on the PS3. They even made free Canada day t-shirts for your avatar to wear. :)

Had a good day. Went out and saw Fireworks at the town docks. Will most likely be going out again tomorrow night to see more fireworks that our Township is putting on.

If you are talking about Bruce's hat, yes it is the only one that he will leave on. His brother bought it for him for Christmas last year.

I'm a little late on this but oh well. :) It's been crazy busy here with school finishing up and such.
Canada day was good...had a parade, kids played in a bouncy house, had good food and a wagon ride. :) The older two kids like the fireworks but my 4 yr. old didn't and just wanted to go home. lol! Maybe next year she will enjoy them more.
