Since we're talking about the ornament swap, I thought this post might be helpful to us. I'll start!
Main tree: crystal and acrylic ornaments with white lights
Second tree: Hallmark ornaments with white lights.
Third tree: Deanna has her own tree with multi lights. Things she's made at daycare, along with ornaments from her grandmothers.

My main tree this year will be my blue tree. It will be a mix of all snow themed (snowflakes, snowmen, crystal icicles, etc) ornies with my new blue LED lights.
If I decide to do my other trees I will put up my Santa tree where I use all Santa ornies with red and gold balls.
I also have a tree that is just a mish mash of everything I have, Hallmarks, balls, homemade items.

Oh Oh, fun fun fun.
CC, the blue tree sounds like it is going to absolutely beautiful. Love the blue LED lights, but don't put too many on... you'll have to wear sunglasses to view the thing. I always go overboard with lights. It's a Clark Griswold thing.
Main Tree: Burgundy and gold with lots of bows and velvet garland, oh and of course all of the family ornies.
Secondary Tree: Have not quite decided how to decorate it. I think that will be a joint decision between myself and the rest of the decorating committee (the kid).
Personal Work Tree: Dancing lights, old-fashioned wooden ornies and plaid tradtional garland
Personal Tree(The kid's room): Whatever SHE decides. Last year it was all musical ornaments like horns and harps.
Cyber Tree: Already decorated...just waiting to be fluffed up, plugged in and turned on.

LOL, I know DN! This will be the first year with blue LED's (I always use blue mini's)so it should be interesting. But we do the outside with blue and white icicles lights and blush mesh lights in the bushes so I hope the tree really pops in the window!
Last year I had 19 trees throughout the house. 3 were 6 foot or taller and 4 were 4 foot. I will probably scale down this year quite a bit but like I have said before, I may just change my mind!
I just remember, I do have one tree I have to put up this year. Its for Tom. Its a hunting and fishing tree. The ornies are spent shotgun shells and the lights are mini's with fish covers on them. In fact, I will probably put that one up at deer season.

I have always used a nautical theme for my Christmas trees. Last year I did deviate and added other ornaments along with the decorated seashells.

My main tree....the live one I put up over Thanksgiving break...has always been a collected over time, family tree rather than one with a theme, although it originally started as a patriotic-themed tree back many years ago when I first started putting up my own tree each year.
This tree holds
-gift ornaments,
-ornaments I collect in my travels - which sure beats mugs and t-shirts!
-ornaments handed down from my folks,
- & older ornaments I collect from antique shops.
I currently use blue and frosted white lights on mine, but as a concession to my boyfriend I have added a separate string of twinkling multicolor lights. I can plug in either set or both and maintain peace on earth.
This is the tree I can just sit and look at for hours on end. There are ornaments there I made in elementary school, ornaments from close friends and those I've lost contact with, ornaments from trips big and small, ones marking life events, etc.
I even still hang a roughed-up satin ornament that was shredded by a dear puppy that grew old and passed on several years ago.
Lots and lots of memories on that tree....

CC, I love the blue LEDs. I bought a whole bunch at the end of last season. This year I am going to make a LED light river in the yard. We had to trench out the yard because we had a flooding issue after one of our bad monsoon storms, so it kind of looks like river already. Once I add the lights, I am hoping, that it looks pretty cool.

DN, I think I am really I am gonna like them. I have multi LED's now and I loved the way the blue lights were the brightest.

I DEFINITELY second that. The best thing is to put up the tree and tell the stories of the ornaments as they are hung.

My main tree will be multi colored lights with all Hallmark ornaments that I have purchased over the last 10 years.
I bought from HSN some lighted snow patches that I am going to try this year. I'm not sure if they will look nice or not. If they don't make the cut, I'll be the first to toss them out. Nothing for the best for my tree.
this year I am looking for the perfect tree topper. I ahve always used a snowman in the past but he is starting to get a little dirty and look like a dust man instead.
If anyone sees something unbelievable let me know.
