So now that the big day has come and gone how are ya feeling? Any blues set in yet?

I think I am trying to get them. While it was a great week and Christmas was really good Goldie and crew leave tomorrow and the house is gonna be alot quieter around here. The weather has turned off hot which has me thinking more of Spring now than of winter and before long all the brilliant lights will come down.

I guess this is to be expected, it does happen every year. I just wish it got easier!!

It was sad to get in the van this morning and hear "regular" music instead of Christmas music on the radio.

I can't be sad about Christmas being over because I'm so excited about our anniversary trip coming up. I wasn't this excited over the 5th and 10th, but the 15th, I'm older and worn out! Didn't have a child five years ago to take up most of my time and all my love, and Patrick's work wasn't as stressful five years ago. He thinks he's getting sick, but I hope he's better before Sunday afternoon.

Once Christmas is gone, I still have New Year's Eve to look forward to. I'm always ready for Spring after Christmas Day. I'm already thinking about Valentine's & Easter gifts for Deanna and wondering what kind of birthday party she'll want this year! One year and a half until our Disney trip! (I'm a planner, can you tell??)

It's a funny thing. I use to get the after Christmas blues. Here lately, I don't. I just keep Christmas going all the time, if only in my heart. I don't want to wish my life away, but I cannot wait until we get into Christmas '09. This is why I'm a year-round poster...I'm not only here for the Christmas holidays but just like whitney...I enjoy them all. I really look forward to Valentines day and Easter is the best. I have a hard time getting through the hot and humid summer days here but I always keep in mind Christmas is just around the corner with new plans in store. I usually begin my plans in July.

Now I'm just sad. While we were sitting here watching the 9 pm news because of the severe weather moving in here tomorrow, Goldie decided to check their weather at home. They have ice moving in around noon tomorrow so they decided they better pack up and head home tonight. Just like that.

They just pulled out and are headed home overnight. They have a 7 hour trip ahead of them. I am already missing them and I am worried too because they are all so tired and its foggy here.

Is it like a Christmas club? Don't fancy risking that in case the same thing happens like that other one last year.

Haven't seen any holiday ads yet though, have you?

This was the fastest Christmas ever, it just flew by. I am not sad yet. But then I will not 'un decorate for about another month yet. I will take outside stuff down around New Years, weather permitting, but my inside I will leave up awhile probably till super bowl!!! LOL Well my rule is,everything has to be gone by March 21st, but many times it's all put up by early Feb. It is cozy and nothing else to look at during the winter. I have lots of indoor stuff. I didn't even get my little 'Elves themselves' and a few other things up this year. Next Year, I am starting Oct 15th, maybe Oct 1st. Just getting it out and up, not turning on anything. I have arthritis super bad in my back and it takes me so long to go up and down the stairs to the attic and up and down the ladder. Besides I don't get a lot of company other than family, so who cares!!! Hubby hasn't been able to help with anything around the house and yard this year. I doubt that he ever will be able to. But we have the spirit.

I will be pulling out the Christmas stuff in my attic that I did not use this year, to see, if I will use it again, or sell it or pass it to the kids etc. So that takes time. I like to keep my attic uncluttered.

I did have a laugh to my self this year. an persnickedy old lady here in town, said to me at the store the other day....'my you sure have your decorations up early'......Her son and family live next door to me and they had the TG dinner this year and we light up things on TG. I said, Oh that's late for me, I usually start on Halloween. LOL

lt will hit me in January, as that will be 4 years since Dad left us and also taking the decos down-which l hate.

l'm supposed to work tomorrow, tues and weds, but hubby said he'd like me to take Weds off just to spend some time with him, l will have Thurs and Fri and of course the weekend with him anyway. l'm not sure what to do. l would love to spend the day with him at home as we dont get many days off together. BUT l would also feel very guilty about having time off when l'm not actually ill. ARGH!!! Please help!!

Any way you can work just 1/2 a day? Maybe leave around lunch?

Today is my get everything back in order day. Or I'm gonna atleast try too. I am missing my family something terrible today too. Its just not the same without us cooking or eating or going someplace.

no l would feel worse leaving half way through the way!!! and l know it would be harder for them to get cover that way, if l rang up the evening before they are more than likely to get cover so l wouldnt feel so guilty-hmmmmm still deciding!!!

If you took the day off, Tess, would you feel too guilty to enjoy it? I guess that would help me make my decision.....if you're feeling too guilty to enjoy it and relax, it might not be worth it.

I'm a wee bit depressed, but I always get the after-Christmas-blues. CB has been sick most of the day, so that doesn't help and Dad has seemed moody. went to Mom's to see my two nieces and nephew and Mom was in a crabby mood, so it's definitely affecting my mood.

I am enjoying my gifts and food, though, so that is a big help! 2797

Hope you are feeling better Sugarfoot.

I actually took my outdoor Nativity set down today, mainly because of the winds and it is in the 50's today and tomorrow. I may take my outdoor train down tomorrow.

Not doing so well. Slipped on ice yesturday and this morning my husband and son took me to the hospital. Pulled a tendon in my right leg so I have a tensor badage on my knee and I'm on crutches. Have to stay off my leg for today and see how it is tomorrow.

I am not doing so great today. I am better tonight but today was just horrible.

First day back at work and was going to get in my car when I realized there was no more Christmas music on the radio. I didn't have my cd's so I had to listen to regular radio which just peeved me off so I turned it down low.

Then the internet Christmas station I have been listening to showed it was still on but when I clicked on it, it wasn't. By that time I was almost in tears.

All day long I was thinking of the good times we had and of my family and would just get beside myself with sadness. I did go to Walgreen's and look over their leftover stuff but that too made me sad as I realized even if I bought it I couldnt use it for a year.

I guess my first day back into real life make me realize its over again. I'm not sure how long this will last but I hope the new year will make me feel better.

mother christmas...I sure hope you heal quickly and can get off those crutches and feel better soon.
Well, no Christmas blues here...I think it's because I love the weather now and look forward to the months ahead of living in paradise.
I'm still watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel and it keeps the spirit going. Sonny took our outside lights and decorations down but I will keep the inside decorations up for another week or two. I just love seeing them too much to take them down yet. I wish I had a spare room to keep it Christmas decorated throughout the year so whenever I need a good dose of Christmas, all I'd have to do is open the door and experience Christmas anytime of the year.

Still feeling up with the holidays. Sitting here with the tree lights on & I keep watching movies on Hallmark everynight.

I think when the decorations come down is when the depression of the holidays being over will hit. Until then I am still enjoying the holidays.

I took down my decorations yesterday but I decided thanks to Christy, I'm leaving up my snowmen untl winter is over. They are not Christmasy at all and at least they give a little bit of color to the mantel. I'm feeling ok, not back to myself yet. I miss everyone at home but I'm trying to remember that we will be back in March so that gives me something to look forward to.
