I just got a call dismorning saying my cousin was in the ICU in a coma from her diabetes. She has really bad type 2 and apparently wasn't using her insulin correctly. I pray she'll come out of a coma and get better soon.

Prayers for your cousin and family. I sincerely hope everything works out, diabetes seems to run rampant in my family, so I know how tough this is for you.

thank you all so much for your thought's and prayers, they arn't sure what exactly caused this, but she is a severe diabetic, and they think she might have contracted "swine flu" and the two combined might have caused a reaction which brought her into a coma. She's currently out of the coma & responding but only through writing on a paper as she is currently on a ventilator. Thank you again for all your kindness. It was greatly appriciated!

Hope things are going better now. I know what you mean. My husband is a Type 2 diabetic, has to have insulin the past few years and he just came off ventilator. He hadn't eaten much and was un responsive, plus they had put in a bad pik line and it got infected.

thank you all SO much for your thoughts & prayers, they've worked! my cousin is being discharged tomorrow, turns out she didn't have swine flu, she hadn't taken her insulin for her diabetes. her sugars were over 550!!! the doctors said she was literally on the verge of death!! I'm so happy she's going to be okay! Thank you all so much again & again & again!!!
