Well in my handy book I have already written down ideas for next year. I will not have to ask my sister-in-law for ideas for my nephews and I already have ideas for my son's and daughter.

Also in my book is the idea that I want to do for my advent calendar exchange and what I need to purchase for next year.

Yes I night be early! But at least I will know what I need and get in done early!

Looking forward to next Christmas. :c12:

The main thing I'm doing different next year is getting an actual real Christmas Tree. I've had a fake one for over 10 years and finally deciding that it's falling apart. It should be nice to have a real one though.

We have a real tree in our house every year. Some times some of them are better then others.

Each year, the tree looks different. One year, dried flowers(mine)& a star. Another one was took cards sent from friends & family, cut them out in bells, stars & hearts. Place those on the tree. Simple but beautiful. After returning from GA,one year, gather lots of large pinecones.
Visiting relatives. That was my victorian tree. Put some homemade snowflakes that my grandmother made. I made princess pine garland & wreath for the door. That was nice.
Decorating doesn't have to cost alot. Just our time.

Making my own cards again, I missed doing that this year due to family stuff, but have almost all the accessories (but would love red & green cards). But will get bits as/when they appear in shops/online. Will also put coppers (1p's, 2p's) and 5p's away from Jan 1st for postage, and will plans to get cards out as soon as I get the CT 2010 list

I'm gonna make a file on the pc with the addys of all the people that sent me cards this year under their own headings: family, CT pals, facebook pals, penpals, school mates, old work mates, neighbours, kids mates & teachers (they won't do it themselves and it's always a struggle with George, I'd be better off getting him to do his cards now for next year). Another file with addresses of those I sent cards to.

Present planning will be done as we go along, making a note of things kids like. We have various book companies that come to the school throughout the year selling books/gadgets at knock-down prices so I always get things off them, but give them out throughout the year, but stop after Georges birthday.

Food shopping will be done as/when offers start, as long as they are non perishable.

I am with you Mother Christmas, I wrote all my favorities memories, thoughts and ideas in down in my journal. It was great having everyone here for Christmas week and I do not believe I would change a thing. Color idea for 2010 is back to pink and green with lots of candy, lollipops and sweets as accents - a Christmas Candy Land theme. However, the year is young and I have plenty of time to mull everything over.

Granny sounds like you have lots of ideas just like me already. Even though I am taking down the christmas decorations now, I write down anything that I think of at this moment then I don't worry about it come November. I can start buying that stuff as soon as it comes out in October.
