Has anyone every put food colouring in their sugar cookie dough?

I was thinking about doing this and seeing how it works.

Just wondering if anyone has ever done this before or added cocoa to the cookie dough?

I have done both. The coloring does not have any flavor so you can also add on that part if you want. With cocoa you are limited with flavor add ons.
It is lots off fun though! O have made bright blue cookies once and people where almost scared to eat them. Fun for halloween i would say.

one year I got a scottie dog cookie cutter...so of course you need them to be black. So I whipped up some sugar cookie dough, put some black food coloring in there and baked them. Hardly anyone would eat them everyone thought they were burnt!!!! LOL

I just loved everyones reaction to it. Everytime someone would say they were burnt I'd pick one up and eat it. You should have seen some of the looks!! LOL

that's cool you could make them colored for the holidays.


I did this with Mashed Potatoes at one point. It was kind of cool. Kind of weird for some colors though haha.

Glad to hear that someone put food colouring in their sugar cookie dough. I am considering using red and green and a little bit of cocoa that I put in my porcupines.
