I'm going to be baking something the day before. And that night I'll put out cheese, sausage and crackers and a few sweets. Probably have egg nog. Not sure if anyone will be here that night except Jack and me, but he likes his traditions. A son from out of town may be coming. Hope so.

Thanksgiving morning, I'll put the ham in the oven and get my praline topping yams ready to pop in the oven while i slice the ham. (Of course Macy's parade will be on the TV)

Then we'll take everything and go to my daughter's house where the turkey will be roasting and all her other goodies will be cooking too. (She's a wonderful cook) We'll have around 20 people including a few friends who we always include. i wish the rest of our family could be here, but I'm thankful for the ones who will. Some of the adult grandchildren will be there part of the time and then will be going on to the other side of their family.

I can't wait.:t5::t53::t52:

We will have two meals that day, one with each side of our family. We usually have breakfast with DH's family & dinner with my family. I haven't been given any details as to where or when any meals will be this year. We'll just show up when they tell us to, I guess!

As Thanksgiving is not celebrated in the Netherlands, I try to do something of my own with some friends (who are also Americans) to celebrate. Most times, though, it's not on the Thursday but that following weekend. Don't know if I can arrange something for this year, however, as hubby and I have many, many things going on...but, I can always postpone it to a week later or so...that's the beauty of doing it your way! haha

My side of the family is celebrating Thanksgiving the Friday before Thanksgiving Day this year, which is coming up in one week, first time for doing this. For dinner we'll have Mr. Turkey & the whole trimmings plus dessert, Mom is having it at her place as usual. Thanksgiving Day, my grand baby will be baptized, afterwards we will eat Mexican food. It will certainly be different for us this year that's for sure.:t50:

Thanks, hon! We probably won't do anything big if we do anything at all. And if it does happen, it will definitely be later in the month...or even beginning of December! haha
Yes, it's just another day here...so we have to make our own fun, right?
Oh well...it's all good! 0293

It's just going to be my parents, siblings and I, just like most years. We don't really see our extended family but I'm ok with that. :T3:

We will be combining our families this year so it will be fun! Lots of cooking, eating, watching the Cowboys play, playing games and Christmas music!!!!

Seeing as its Thanksgiving, I just wanted to say how thankful I am for this site. I have made some great friends over the years here and enjoy coming on here every night and posting away to get away from that working World. Have a great day and thanks again for being the best members!
