Cupcake recipe

My grandma is turning 83 this month and we are having our annual family gathering to celebrate with her. The past few years we have all brought a covered dish and had a buffet, which works really well. Anyways we have decided not to do a cake this year but instead cupcakes. I will be making the cupcakes and I am making a white cupcakes with buttercream, lemon cupcakes with italian merengue and I need to make one more. Anyone have any January or winter cupcake recipes or ideas?

How did your cupcakes come out Ralphie? Any pics?

I ended up making the lemon cupcakes and vanilla cupcakes with a salted caramel buttercream. They turned out really well! I didn't think to take any pictures though!

They were really yummy! I will post the recipe when I get a chance. I only had a physical copy of the recipe, not a digital copy.

Your cupcake recipe sounds good. I never make cupcakes anymore, but am trying to think of a kind to make for hubby's birthday Sat. He is in the VA and I think cup cakes would be nice to share with others in his module. I am thinking of doing the 'red velvet cake' cupcakes with white cream cheese icing. I hope I can find those really tiny candy canes and maybe put one on each cake???
