DH is having his gallbladder removed tomorrow. He's been hurting for two months & is just ready to get it over with. We've explained to DD (6 years old) that Daddy is having surgery & that she can't be rough with him for a while. Prayers appreciated!

Prayers for your husband, I know how he feels , I had my Gallbladder removed last September and was only out of action for 1 week , it was hard not to do too much , but at least I don't have that pain there any more....

Sorry to be late getting back here! DH is doing well, just moving slowly. He is back to eating as normal & will go back to work tomorrow. A neighbor/co-worker will probably drive him to & from work since he's still pretty sore. Thank you for your continued thoughts & prayers.

Glad to hear he's improving....that's a quick return to work, good for him. Continuing prayers and good thoughts that the healing process continues, nicely for him.

DH worked 1/2 day yesterday then came home to rest. He said the were waiting on him at the door with work yesterday morning. No mercy for the recovering! I'm interested to see how he does today.

Dh worked 3 days last week: 2 full days & 2 half days. Monday he went back for a check-up & all was fine. Tuesday he woke up with pain in his stomach. Doctor's office told him to go to the hospital for bloodwork. Nothing showed up in the bloodwork. They told him to come see the doctor today if he didn't feel better. I guess he feels better because he didn't mention going to the doctor today when he left home.

It'll be two weeks tomorrow since the surgery, so I guess I shouldn't expect him to be Superman. I had a rough delivery of DD & it took six weeks for me to be able to sit upright for any length of time without pain (4th degree episiotomy). Unless you are the one in pain, you don't know how much it hurts. I'm trying to put my sympathy cap on for him---usually I'm telling everybody to suck it up & keep moving!

Whitney I am sorry I haven't seen this post till now. Tell him not to push it too hard. I had my gallbladder out 30 years ago and still recall the pain I went thru before they removed it and after. I pushed it too quick and wound back in the hospital for more drainage cause I couldn't lay around. Was in the hospital for three days the third time but learned my lesson and stayed unactive for three weeks. Tell him to let it heal. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.:):

Last night he told our SS teacher something he neglected to tell me about his Monday hospital/blood work experience: They were afraid that some stones had been left in the duct where they clamp off the gallbladder before removing it...

After the bloodwork they decided that the stomach pain was probably just gas from being "blown up" while in surgery. He said he had a really good day yesterday, so I'm figuring that today will be bad. It's usually every other day at this point...

I appreciate the continued thoughts & prayers. He had a first yesterday, as he was able to tuck his shirt in!

Thank you. Yesterday he came straight home after work & slept for a couple of hours. Today will probably be a good day. He is planning to go to the movies tonight while DD & I go to a birthday party, so he must have felt good this morning.
