The Christmas Story is one of my favorites. I loved the party where they doubled dared everyone. And they got some poor boy to stick his tongue on a pole in the middle of winter. Poor thing got his tongue stuck. Sad but made me laugh so hard.

I loved the classic Holiday Inn. I do have a slew of other favorites. But as far as the movies go. Holiday Inn hands down for me. Its covers Christmas. But I think I like it alot for the fact it has Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby. I really love Astaire's dancing and Crosby's crooner voice.

It woudl ahve to be Miracle on 34th Street although Almost any of the Scrooge films would have to be up there as well. I love the idea of redemption of ones soul by embracing the spirit of Christmas and becoming the peopel we always deamd we could be.

:) Christmas movies and specials that bring out the child in me or are a little heartwarming are the ones I enjoy most. It's hard to narrow them all down. I suppose if I could only see five this year they would be . . .

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (animated) tied with A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Christmas Carol (Alistair Sim) (Love the Mr. Magoo version too.)

It’s A Wonderful Life

Miracle on 34th Street (with Edmund Gwynn, Natalie Wood)

T’was the Night Before Christmas (with the mice and the clockmaker)

If I could please, pretty please see five more they would be . . .

A Muppet Family Christmas

A Christmas Story

It’s A Wonderful Life

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

(I'm overdue to see Holiday Inn and White Christmas again.)

8) You think it was hard for me to choose? You should have dinner with me in a restaurant - far too many choices to narrow them down.

8) If I was stuck on a desert Island that had the technology to show me two of them over and over, I suppose I'd go with Miracle on 34th Street (Natalie Wood and Ed Gwenn version) & A Christmas Story.

Lady and the Tramp, without question :) I've loved it ever since I was a little kid! plus those movies that aren't strictly Christmassy, but always seem to be shown around Christmas time like Mary Poppins and The Railway Children... :D

I love so many Christmas films, it's tough for me to narrow it down to just one film. If I was forced at gunpoint, I would probably say, White Christmas....I just love that film. I know many fans prefer, Holiday Inn and that's certainly a great film, but the color in White Christmas as well as the cast and tunes, just really makes it a favorite of mine. If I listed my all-time faves, it would look like this....

01) White Christmas
02) Miracle On 34th Street ('47)
03) A Christmas Carol ('38 & '51)
04) It's A Wonderful Life
05) The Christmas Wish (Debbie Reynolds/Neil Patrick Harris)
06) Christmas In Connecticut ('45)
07) The Christmas That Almost Wasn't
08] Home Alone

Those aren't in order of preference, just the list. Also, a couple of films that don't take place all around Christmas, but would still make my list because of a Christmas scene or two would be, Desk Set and Yours, Mine and Ours [1968]

If we're including the classic holiday specials in this list, then I'd have to include; Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, A Charlie Brown Christmas, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Little Drummer Boy, Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town and The Year Without A Santa Claus.

Some would debate whether certain films are actually Christmas movies however some I just associate with that time of the year, like Holiday Inn for instance. Many holidays are actually in the movie but the Christmas scene is most touching, with Bing singing White Christmas and all. That wonderful rural setting with all the snow, huge fireplace. :?

One thing I like about this movie is that its an hour long show, 30 minutes just isn't long enough for a Christmas show.

My all time favorite is Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Also up there at the top are lots of others including...
Elf, The Grinch, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, 12 Dogs of Christmas, Prancer, The Snowman, Santa Clause 1,2 and 3! The other Home Alones-2,3 and 4, Christmas with the Kranks, Bad Santa, and l have also just discovered Christmas in Boston which l have watched the past 2 days as its been on TV.
l watch xmas films at least once a week and at the most 6 times a week(gotta give myself a break!LOL)and as lve got older l've got worse!! poor me, is there anyone else out there who watches them that often or am l a one off? My friends truly think l have a serious problem and l am starting to believe them!!!:b:

You just can't beat those Rankin & Bass classics. Anyone here a fan of the Davey and Goliath Christmas special, Christmas Lost? Remember, most of their shows were 15 minutes each, but they had a few 30-minute specials, with Christmas being one of them. I love that, too.

Every year there's always one or two breakout movies that never make it to mass media. I can't remember last year's- just that Mario Lopez starred in it…*snap* *snap*…oh yeah- it was Holiday In Handcuffs! Hilarious.

My classic favorites:

Home Alone 1 and 2
Charlie Brown Christmas
The Santa Clause- and second one (I didn't like the 3rd one)
The Christmas List (Mom and I first watched that when I was 7 years old- I've loved it ever since!)

The Nightmare Before Christmas (a childhood favorite)
Christmas Story
The Bass & Rankin claymation series- those I will prepare a ton of snack food and drinks before they come on, and then I'll sit and watch them and never get up!

Edit:
How could I forget "Christmas With the Kranks"?
