I love HGTV and would really like to see more of their programs on how to make your own outdoor decorations. Maybe if we all e-mailed them and told them they would come up with more specials. :)
Do you watch them or DIY?

Heck of an idea there Light. Yes I watch that show, I try to get tips and ideas whereever I can. We should also write to them and make them put us all on tv for a special. You can design the set up along with a few others. I can help string it all together, with some help. Someone can be playing music, then we can all sit down in our decorated loaner house while talking Christmas and eating some Christmas recipes. Sign us up!

Dreaming of Christmas there 2A. Wake up, Wake up now Christmas is coming and I don't think HGTV or DIY wants to talk to us. You do know we are a outcast. Thinking of Christmas all year. Who would do such a thing. :)
People already think of me as a wacko, You don't want them to think of you as a wacko.
Wouldn't it be neat to see all of us on TV together. My house is meek compared to some of them out there. Give me a couple more years and I will be up there with the Womacks and MarthaK's of the world. :)

Oh no ervserver you got to get that dish back. It is great to watch them do some of the houses. They can come and do mine anytime and they won't get to much supervision from me.

Well you do know the only reason double A has the channels is because of the food network channels. I sure hope one day he will come and make my Christmas dinner.
We are having a big New Years Eve party this year and I have been checking out some of the dishes on the food network so I can have some different foods. How does a fried turkey sound. We are having a roast and ham for Christmas so we can have turkey for New Years. We are frying one turkey and smoking another. For those who don't like turkey we will be trying out some seafood products we have never had. Everyone is bringing a dish and the Yard will be transformed into a big party area. Lights will stay up on some of the trees but all else will come down and make way for a bon-fire in a controlled pit. I think we will have a blast as usual. The whole neighborhood will be here plus a few from around the county.

You know me too well, the Food Network is on 90% when my tv is on. Im sending in my addition tape to "Next Food Network Star" next week, probably wont get in but it was fun to make the tape.
But I do love watching that channel and all the craft channels around this time. Light I have heard both methods of cooking the turkey are delicious. Let me know how they turn out for you.

Funny how most of the Christmas lovers watch food network and HGTV. You know you are addicted when you have to watch those channels, and wait patiently for any glimpse of the holidays to come on.

I watch all of them I can. I get home normally around 3:30 in the afternoon and that is when they showed alot.

I loved the shows like Deck this Yard, the extreme houses with lights and decorations and then any of the DIY informational type shows.

I like Decorating Cents and Design On A Dime, though not Christmas specific programming they have down to earth and affordable decorating ideas around the holidays.

I guess I need to go buy a DVD recorder so I can send you the shows. You have to see them and the line up they have this year is awesome. If I get out this week I will get a recorder and send you the ones they do in July. They are great. Maybe Mr. LIU will see this post and stop and get me a recorder.

No, but I WISH I had one of those (and I hope the HDTV's and Plasmas have PIP).

I'll just switch back and forth between HGTV, HSN, and QVC.

That's what DVR/TIVO's are for. Record the show on HGTV and then flip between HSN and QVC.

Is HGTV doing something special for Christmas in July??

It will. Depending on which satellite provider you have, some of them offer a DVR (digital video recorder) that is included in your satellite box so you will only have one box instead of two. Plus you pay for it in your monthly payments instead of shelling out the money upfront. I have Tivo (3 in fact) and I love them! Much better than putting everything on video tape!!

That avatar, as most everyone should know by now, is from the NORAD Santa site (when you try to access Santa's Christmas Eve route on either Christmas Day or the days after, you get that photo saying "Shhh! Santa is sleeping! Santa is taking a much needed rest from his long journey around the world. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!"). As of right now, he and the elves are probably working 24/7 on those toys and baking the cookies.
