A guy on the news just said that January 22nd is typically the saddest day of the year, so if you are sad, realize you're not alone in it and start posting like a madman, or woman.

I listen to songs that were prevalent in what I call " the best years" of my life so far, which were the 80's. I'm doing so today. Typically I get winter sad in February.

I read about this on msn.com today and think it is a bunch of hooey. He uses some formula to calculate this but it said that people dont need his formula to know they have the blues. Its just this time of year, caused by Seasonal Affective Disorder or SAD for short.

I didnt feel blue today at all, in fact just the opposite. Work was nice but slow and quiet (which is good) and its not raining!!

If I was feeling blue...hum, what would I do. Probably call my mom...moms always have a way of making a person feel better. Even though it was cold maybe spend some time outdoors just to get some Vitamin D.

This site plays a big role in fighting off the winter doldrums because we look forward to hearing from each other and our minds don't fixate on negative stuff. (Can't believe I spelled fixate right. It just doesn't look right in print.)

I enjoy logging in each day to see what Christy has bought at the Dollar store, it makes me so jealous I forget any sadness in my life.

I can't depend on this therapy forever though, that Dollar store will run out of Christmas stuff surely by July.

Well, I agree that this visiting this site is a great way to keep away the blues. I do listen to music, but I didn't pick that option, because I do more things that just that. I try to get busy with chores and projects when I feel those doldrums looming in the distance.
:-D

Don't usually get sad for anything unless my kid is sicker than normal,
But i'm usually busy making things or on here.
Only good thing about Jan 22 is that it's closer to spring and riding season.

My allergies are so bad right now I dont do anything but sneeze. I stay stopped up, runny headed and sneezy constantly. One of our local tv docs said the other day cedar was blooming but I think it is all the mold growing caused by all this rain. I got my allergy meds filled but they havent kicked in yet. I am hyper and happy and not hungry but still stopped up.

Totally agree with you guys. Glad I found this forum. It was the best Christmas present for me,this year. Hope we'll be around for years.

I voted for listening to music. I've done that all my life. It just picks me up and reminds me of great times. 8)

Well with either sadness or anger, I clear it all away with working out, or best of all hitting a punching bag, gets it all out. :)
p.s. this site helps too lol

I will have just been on my float trip and had the Monday off that week. Yeah, I can see that being a good day!!

Wait, that article was written in 2005. It wont be a on a Friday this year but a Sunday.

Still, will probably be on the sandbar. Still a good day.
