What do you use for currency there, BBQ sandwiches?

Fish. Remember, we live by the river. Its all about the fried catfish and hush puppies!

I remember my first hush puppy. (Stop me if you've heard this. Oh, you can't?) I had just moved south via the US Navy and was eating at a Shoney's in Millington TN in 1985. Some friends from church had gathered there, back when Shoneys was the going thing, and we had catfish (all you can eat Thursdays!) and hush puppies. I had to ask what I was supposed to do with the hush puppy because it was unlike anything I had eaten before. I banged it on the plate to emphasize my reluctance, but ended up eating the first of thousands of hush puppies. I like them with vinegar or cocktail sauce or tartar sauce. Anything to lube them up a bit.

fresh piping hot puppies are yum yum

I am a hush puppy fiend. I could eat just them and no fish, unless its crappy.

I like mine plain and fresh so they aren't little bricks but will eat the cold bricks if that is all I have to choose from. Tom dips his in mustard and will not eat them without it.

#4, I would have loved to have seen you with that very first hush puppy!! Aren't you glad you didnt give up and tried them?

Standard hush puppies are just a vehicle for a good tasting sauce to me, but I have had deluxe hush puppies with other thingies in them, like bits of corn or peppers. Them-R-Good.

Have to be one of the worst foods we could eat

Oh yeah, just little greaseballs are all they are.

Yup, I have had some deluxe models myself. Our friend at the creek always adds hots peppers and ground pepper powder to his that will take the top of your head off.

Another friend always add corn. My mom adds onion. I don't think there is much you can't add to them

Back to the movies :x , I finally watched The Pursuit of Happyness yesterday. I twice prayed afterwards, thanking God for every little thing I own. When I think how so many people don't have a place to stay and vie for whatever free lodging exists each night, I am so thankful that every single night of my life I have had a roof (or tent) over my head and food on the table. I picked my son up for church last night and told him to be thankful for every little thing he has as well. I'm not going to spoil the story, but it is a true story.

Not really a family movie per say, but did anyone go out and catch 300 when it was in theatres? Wow what a movie!

I took my son to see Spiderman 3 last weekend. He enjoyed it so that was all that really counts. It had it's okay parts, but as usual it didn't stand up to the first one.

DH is a movie nut, me, not so much. I"ll go with him once every two or three months just to get my parent's to babysit Deanna and to get a good nights sleep---Deanna sleeps with us.

We saw Spiderman 3 on opening day. Even I thought it was good. DH says he's going to see Pirates of the Carribean next week when it comes out. I told him he could go with his best friend and I'd stay home!! I can't do two movies in one month!

Another thing we have in common (besides the Hamburger Helper).

I am not a movie goer at all. I cant justify the prices plus if I wanted to have a bunch of people sit around me, talk to each and talk on their cell phones I would just invite all my friends over to the house while I watch pay per view!!

I'm afraid I'll be going to see Pirate of the Carribean III this weekend. I wish it would be comfortable so I could take a two hours nap while I'm there!

My wife always manages to fall asleep at the theater. Eat right before you go.

We went to the movie. Couldn't have slept if I'd wanted too. Loud sword fighting, blowing up ships, etc. So much violence for a Disney movie!

I've had dates that did that, often

I'm not really familiar with Rerun. I guess I had stopped taking the paper by the time he came along.

Rerun sort of was brought up out of nowhere, "I want a dog for Christmas" is a perfect Christmas in July movie, not as good as the original but can hold you over till the season.

has Rerun ever appeared in the comic strip?
