These guys scan Christmas wishbooks of the past and post them online, looks like they are getting ready to upload more years soon too.

Thanks, erv! That is an awesome site. If they can scan whole catalogs, why can't my high school scan old yearbooks? I checked and they aren't even copyrighted.

I saw an old wishbook for sale on Ebay. I think it was from the early 80's.

We poured over the Sears Wishbooks for months leading up to Christmas. We even named the children in the clothing and toy sections. Kept us busy for hours and my mom loved it because she knew we weren't rough housing and it gave her time to clean the house, bake goodies, etc.

Some of those pages were dog-eared by Christmas Day. We used to cut out some of the things we wanted most and made collages and left them out by Santa's cookie plate just in case our letters got lost along the way.

Great memories.

Many of times,I asked the kids to circle things they MIGHT like to have. Helped Santa alot.
hohoho. Yes,it kept them busy. Never thought of the collage thing. Good idea.

I love the wishbook, as a kid I always looked through it before my parents and made my list's and as an adult I look through it before my kids get it.

My grandma had a drawer in her kitchen that she kept magazines and catalogs. As a kid I would always look through the drawer just waiting for the wishbook to come. I still do this!
