She has become pretty big on Christmas and has her own line of Christmas items out. Do you decorate with any of her things or ideas?
I started about 3 years ago incorporating some of her themes, she tends to deal with color schemes and I love her silver and blue collection. What do you think?

She has nice stuff, we have bought a few ornaments here and there. Bought some glitter pine cones last January on clearance.

I wanted the Martha Stewart first snowfall tree last year, IT was out of my budget. Last month i found one on eBay for only 50.00. it is 250.00 originally. I got it and had to set it up right then, It is beautiful and cant wait to use it this year. It has dew drops on the tips of long needles. It looks natural. I hated to put it back in the box! It is sitting in the corner of my bedroom, tempting me too put it up!
I will add some lights to it, not sure if i will go with a theme or make it traditional. I would like to go with a primitive tree or a snowman tree with blue white and silvers, all blue lights Not sure yet..
Idea's anybody??

Scooter, I am really big on blue and silver and snowmen. That is what I did last year. All blue lights and I flocked my tree white. I loved it! let me find the picture and I will link it here.

Thank you Twinkle!
And yes Scooter, I took the easy way out and bought fake snow in a can this year. It took 6 cans (its $1.00 a can at Dollar General) and did it myself. You just have to give it plenty of time to dry in an enclosed, weather proof place, which in our case is our shop.
I used to pay 25-50 bucks to get someone to flock it for me and it never was the way I wanted it. Too light or too heavy. So last year I did it my way! Glad you like it!

It works alot better on live trees than fake. The older the tree gets it will come off in hunks.
And it yellows badly after a year or two. My mom paid a fortune for a flocked fake tree years ago and it was only good for one Christmas.

Christy---
Love that tree! I've always had a thing for all blue decorations. After being with my husband for 18 years, I just found out that his favorite color is blue!!! I'm not buying any more ornaments, but I think simple blue ones would look good with my clear acrylic & glass ones!

I spray my real tree with snow, Just dusting it.. I never thought to totally flock it. It is pretty!
I use cotton batting and layer it over my branches, as a fresh show fall, and spray it with the left over can of snow.. then the left over batting i lay at the bottom of the tree..
If i do it this year, I will get an up close pic.

Yeah scooter I commented somewhere about your tree. I might have to try that this year instead of the flock. I love flocking but it was a huge mess last year! It was our first Christmas in our new house and we have hardwood floors and the flock got all in the grooves. I didnt think I would ever get it all out.
Plus (dont let this get out, my family will fall over from shock), I am thinking of using a fake tree this year. With the family coming in I want a nice looking tree all season and if I go live I will have to wait about 2 week later than normal to get it. They just wont live long enough after cutting to be pretty on Christmas.

Christy ..your tree is very pretty, I like the blue/silver look also
flocking looks nice but it is messy and it stinks
why dont you buy a fake white tree?
dew drops can be made with drops of hot glue also.(buy clear sticks not the cloudy looking ones)

As for Martha
she has some nice ideas but It seeems they can be made way way cheaper and just as good as hers.. sometimes better!!
I think her stuff is overpriced and That's not a good thing!!

LOL!! I missed those responses by my sis and Erv!
Thanks lilly! I did go fake after all and one is a white tree done up in blue. I don't mind having a white tree but I am a tried and true real tree person so a fake white tree to me looks just that, fake and white. When I have a real tree flocked it still has some green and the tree smell is there. But you are right, the mess is horrible and I wont miss it this year.
