But I still want to know how Harry Potter is Christmas?

And Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? There are alot of better movies they could show.

and Mary Poppins...All the non christmas movies, are good movies, but i'd much rather watch christmas movies, they can show the others any time during the year....When the family channel was the Fox family (and just called family), they showed all christmas movies during the 25 days...I wish it would go back to just christmas movies...I'm still excited though.

I think they should start in September...There are so many great christmas movies/specials etc etc, they could fill months of airtime up with them....I don't think i'd ever leave my house...My family might have me commited.

Here is some new news thanks to abcfamily.com.

Breaking News: The 11th annual "25 Days of Christmas" event will feature an original movie and special as well as the basic cable premieres of "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "Cars."
--Now I love Narnia, but not really Christmas, same with Harry Potter and Cars, oh well.

ABC Family's 11th annual "25 Days of Christmas" programming event, will feature over 200 hours of holiday-themed entertainment for the whole family from December 1st to the 25th. In addition to classic holiday favorites like "Rudolph's Shiny New Year," "Frosty's Winter Wonderland" and "Santa Claus is Comin' to Town," this year's holiday event will also feature an all new holiday special, "A Miser Brothers Christmas," the sequel to the holiday favorite "A Year Without a Santa Claus." In addition, ABC Family presents the new original movie "Snow 2 Brain Freeze" starring Tom Cavanaugh and Ashley Williams, the sequel to our highly successful "Snow" as well as the basic cable premieres of "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "Cars." And again this year, Christmas comes early with "Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas," which adds fifteen additional days of holiday programming.

In 2007, ABC Family enjoyed its most-watched year on record in Prime in Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 18-49, Women 18-49 and Viewers 12-34, and most-watched year in Total Day in the four key demos. Powered by its record-setting 10th annual "25 Days of Christmas" programming event, which saw ABC Family's #1 telecast in its history with the debut of original movie "Holiday in Handcuffs."

You can thank our website for posting most of those #'s. haha

I always loved it when they did an all-day marathon of Rankin & Bass Christmas specials. Didn't matter that I have most of them in one form or another, I'd still sit and watch them all day. 834953

Are there enough to go all day? I would use a vacation day for that!

I am glad for the November start, because it adds another chance to watch one of my TV movie favorites, The Sons of Mistletoe. I will have to set my DVR to record that one since it will only air 3 times this year.

Oh I love this! Thank for you posting this 2A. But that Misers special scares me. Is that the sequel to that awful Delta Burke/John Goodman remake of A Year Without A Santa Claus? I really hope its not.

But Snow 2 sounds wonderful and I am such a Tom Cavanaugh fan. Snow is a must see each year for me!

My VCR isn't working, so I'm not going to be able to record or even watch things I recorded last year...Maybe I can buy a cheap one...I got my old VCR for my 18th birthday, so it's kind of old *surprised it lasted this long*...I recorded almost every christmas show that was on last year, and I don't want to miss all the new stuff!

Well, there are an awful lot of the Rankin & Bass Christmas specials, but I believe near the end of the day...think it sometimes ends around 11:00PM, they might repeat one or two late in the day.

SugarFoot you sound like me. I have to record everything that comes on. Luckily we have two VCR's and now a DVD recorder. You will laugh when you hear the only reason I have these are to record Christmas stuff!

#4, I think Saturday and Sundays are pretty much Christmas on ABC family during this schedule. They may sneak in one of those off Christmas movies they are plugging but for the most part its all the good ol favorites.

I just realized that my kids have VCR in their room that is never used, so I'm just going to hook it up downstairs so I can record and watch my videos!!! I know I sound like a dork, but I got excited when I figured it out today LOL

Even better I might put it in my room so I can make sure that what I want recorded is recorded since I'm the only one that uses that Tv.

Good for you!!!

When Tom and I moved in together we had two DVD players but no VCR. Mine had just broken and I was heart broken because I knew I couldn't record a single thing at Christmas. So the first of December that year Tom bought me a VCR/DVD player! I was thrilled. But then of course that wasn't even enough anymore so we bought another one just a few months ago. So now I can record in the living room and bedroom.

What can I say, I gotta have my Christmas shows. I mean, come on! We only get to see them (well most of them) once a year.

Shucks! I wish we didn't need to wait until Dec 1 to begin seeing the Christmas shows.

That's what I love about Youtube, I can find so many christmas movies/cartoons and tv shows....I want to get a DVD recorder and move myVHS onto DVD's....I might not be smart enough to figure it out (I can't figure out how to burn DVD's on my computet yet lol).

Christy Carol
10-02-2008, 08:14 PM
Thats what the last one is that we just got, a DVD recorder and girl is it simple as pie. It took me longer to figure out how to record on the VCR 4 years ago than it did to burn a DVD on the brand new one. Most of the new ones are a one button record. Simple as pie!

Last year I recorded al lthe old shows that they showed on tvland...I forgot to mark the tapes and need to go threw all of them to find which ones are christmas...I also recorded alot of the made for tv movies on hallmark and lifetime (only the ones that I like).
