;-) One thing I admire is how careful people are these days compared to when I was a child. Folks arrive by taxi or one of them is the "designated driver" so there's no need to worry about fighting over car keys or worrying about guests drinking and driving.

Our R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program is active first thing Christmas morning as well because sometimes people will drink too much and not realize that they are still legally impaired when they "fetch their cars" the next day.

We have Operation Red Nose, for a donation (any amount), volunteer drivers will drive you and your car home.

What type of services are in your area to help guests "arrive alive"?

I know it's not something we set out to think about, but it's important to stay safe.

We have a cab service that offers rides on New Years Eve. Cant remember the catch name for it but I'm never in the city that night anyway.

This is a very good reminder Auntie.
Yes, here in Naples, there is no excuse for anyone driving after drinking...so many alternatives with free cab service offered on 5th Ave if folks have had a bit too much making merry at all the clubs down there. As far as the home parties go, if anyone is over the line that has been at our house partying, we make them spend the night or call a cab for them.
Sonny and I went to a Christmas party last Sunday night and he decided not to drink anything. I had a few... It's hard to stop at one so he just opted not to drink at all. He knew he could always wait a few hours to have his drinks at home.
As most of you know, Sonny is a retired State Trooper and has little tolerance for drunk drivers....He's seen enough of this in his years.:]:

Phoenix has many programs. If you are impaired you may ride the bus for free, call for a volenteer to drive you home, have a cab take you home for free or u can call dial a ride.

I still don't leave my house on New Years Eve because of the drunk drivers.
