Wow! I am so impressed. What beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing. Those displays would put some stores to shame. Have you ever done any professional display work?
How long does it take to set it all up and how long have you been collecting Christmas stuff?

No, I'm sure not a professional! I started collecting Hallmark ornaments in the 70's, then added other stuff. Soon I knew a second tree was needed and then a third and more!! I just love decorating! It helped I was a manager of a Hallmark store, I always said I spent more than I made!
I start before Halloween, it probably takes a month to get it all done. I never have the same thing in the same place the following year. I don't buy all new stuff LOL, I just change it around. I add a few things though!
And as I've mentioned in another post, Keepsake came for a visit in Nov. and we spent a week going to Christmas shops. I'm getting more picky now about what I buy!
We have two granddaughters, 5 & 7yrs old and they love it. They did the Disney tree for me. I hope when they grow up they'll always remember that Grandma loved Christmas!

Thanks for the closeup on Santa's beard. I would not have even guessed there were people hiding in there!

You always do a beautiful job decorating. This is the second year in a row I said I was getting some of those cake plates and I did it today cause I saw your pictures. Thank You so much for sharing and giving us ideas. I am going to try really hard to do a little different next year. Now if I can get hubby to take out this fish tank. LOL

Elaine,
your nostalgic village picture is amazing. What is the 'white village' made from in the background or what is it called etc?

wow...simply stunning...do you rent out any rooms at Christmas? Probably not as your guests would never want to leave such an incredible show of Christmas devotion. Thanks for posting the photos, they were very enjoyable!

thanks for the compliments!
The white "buildings" behind the houses is pretty sturdy, a heavy cardboard of some type,a small area to hold the lights, and I looked at one I didn't use, and it was made by Midwest of Cannon Falls. I've seen a church made of the same material. This is the second year I used it, but I did see it in a couple stores this year again.
I'm in a local Hallmark ornament collecting club, and we had home tours last week. We went to two homes before coming here. I'll post a link to those pictures. I didn't include pictures of my house with this group of photos.

It's fun to see all the Christmas Talk pictures too!! I really enjoy seeing how everyone decorates, and it's great to get new ideas!
I'll probably start taking everything down soon, we had people over quite often (I'm sure some of the men now appreciate their wives more who DON'T decorate as much as me!!)
Also, my very favorite addition is that Santa picture with the children's images in the beard. It's made by John Mahnic. I googled his name, (he lives in Canada) found a website and then emailed him and he answered! He said he has the images of his two kids in the beard, also a little boy with glasses, who he says, was Santa when he was a child! Just adorable!!

I love the pictures but yours is the best. I am partial to your style. It is more cohesive than the others.
