Christmas Village Set-Up

I found this online photo album of a Currier & Ives Christmas village set up in 2008 at the Rockwell Museum. It shows step-by-step how the pros install them. I picked up a few ideas and I thought others might as well.

That is very interesting MarthaK, thank you for sharing, I think I might try some of those ideas as well.

Wow that is cool, I will try that with the boards so that the cords can rest on the table and not hang down. Great post!!!

Wow...I have to admit I have a secret I want to share. I have loved the Christmas Villages for years but I have not been able to start one. This is wonderful and I look forward to a new village venture! thanks for posting!

I discovered this while googling around trying to find information on one of my3 villages, the Currier & Ives set that JoAnn fabrics sold for a few years.
This set goes so well with my decor (early American/colonial/federal) that I leave the buildings up all year on top of my bookshelves.

Aside from this museum display so far, only Jeff Westover's name comes up from a 2006 blog post. However, there are no pictures with it so I can't tell if he displays the same set.

Oh, my other two villages are Target's Bedford Falls set and the Christmas Story set from Sears. I have just a couple of Dept 56 pieces --- the American Legion Hall and the radio station.

I'll have to remember this, I've been debating where to put my Christmas train garden. Normally it's around the tree, but the tree isn't bought yet, so I can do what I want!
