white glue
glitter, your choice of colors
cinnamon
decorative container, bowl or basket


Be sure to choose pinecones that are "open", spines should be spread apart not flat against the side of the cone. To dry them out and kill any bugs or mites that might be inside, bake pinecones on a cookie sheet at 200 degrees F for 45 minutes. Let cool completely.

Paint the tips of a pinecone with white glue. Liberally shake colored glitter onto the pinecones. Lightly dust with cinnamon. Dry completely overnight.

Tip: To revive the scent of your craft, occasionally spritz with a liquid cinnamon potpourri or use a few drops of cinnamon oil on the bottom of the pinecones.

nice idea. I also paint the pinecones silver and gold and spritz with a scented oil. A little heat will revive the smell for a whole season.

You'll never believe what just happened. I was scrolling down this page and accidentally pressed too hard on the wheel, I guess, and it went to Ebay and started shopping for pine cones. Wonder how all that happened. I thought one of you had put a link in your post, but I don't see it.

I have some scented cones Goldie gave me back in September but most of the scent has faded and I have been unable to find any of the refresher oil. Is it only available seasonally?

the scented oils are available all year at pharmacies, craft stores, candle stores. I go to the pharmacy at walmart cause it is the only store in town outside of grocery stores. They have the oils there. Don't have a clue why it is in the pharmacy but it is. Michaels carries it all year too. Ben franklin doesn't so don't waste your time there.

i do this too.i make small cones with sets of colors..i did red ones,blue and green and gold..ive never tried with cinnamon...sounds great..think ill make some more this time and use cinn...cool idea...thanks... :-D

Wal Mart sold some gold and silver ones last Christmas that were scented with cinnamon, and at a price that I couldn't match making my own at home

I need to get some cinnamon oil for my pine cones too. The next time I go to Wal-Mart or out by Michael's I have to remember to pick some up.

Good luck! You cant find that oil at Walmart. I looked and looked and even asked and they dont sell it. Might have better luck at Michaels.

I have seen that but its the wrong smell to me. It is more cooking cinnamon. The pine cones have a different cinnamon smell to them.
