Christmas and weather
When I was a kid I lived in PA and it seems like it snowed every Christmas. What I remember may not really be what happened; I realize this. Still, to me Christmas isn't as magical without snow. Do you look back to your childhood for what Christmas ought to be?

in my dreams every Christmas would have snow but the last several years have not lived up to that. However I recall eggnog a part of Christmas as long as I can remember Christmas. My dad drank it and family is what makes Christmas special for me.

I have to go with eggnog too. That was the only thing we knew for sure that would (only) show up on Christmas.
I remember being around 12-13 and wearing shorts. It was so hot with all my family in the house that we started opening windows. Within a few hours my entire family was in the basement riding out a tornado warning. I found out that year Christmas doesnt always mean snow.

as a kid I liked a lot of snow because there would be no school. I never liked shoveling it. Now I do like to shovel it and I like a lot of snow because it makes the holiday more festive. Come Feb or so I'm not liking the snow so much.

Well, I chose cold temps, because it has to be cold, at least, for me. I'd love snow, but usually don't get it over here.
Can I add eggnog for a #2 choice? LOL

I know people who take a family vacation and spend Christmas in Mexico or somewhere. I think if the whole family were along it might be fun to do something like that. I could handle laying on the beach, until a fishing ship mistook me for a whale and started shooting harpoons at me. :(

Or some pesky do-gooders started rolling you back into the ocean and tried to clear your blow hole.

I don't recall a Christmas as a child without snow, these days it's the opposite.

Up here in Wisconsin, we always had snow when I was growing up. Now days, it seems like it doesn't want to snow. With no snow, it seems to dampen the "magic" of Chirstmas.

While I do not believe at all that the change of weather that has happened since our childhoods is in any way caused by us, I do recognize that there is a difference. I think the change back will eventually happen on it's own power, but I wouldn't expect it soon. It's a very slow process that can take 70 years or even a few centuries, but it always happens.

Well I wouldn't say I've ever been to the beach on Christmas but it is warm. Actually it's one of those days that varies greatly from year to year. Two years ago it was 92 on christmas and last year it was like 75 degrees. But one thing for sure there is never any snow.
